Winter is coming, and on the North Down coast that is no bad thing. The light turns silver over the sea, the harbour at Donaghadee grows quiet, and the lighthouse glows against the early dusk. It is the season for wrapping up, walking the shore with the wind at your back, and coming in from the cold to somewhere warm.

Throughout November we are making it easier to slow down. Book any three-night stay checking in during the month directly with us, and your third night is on us.

One Shore Street sits at the water’s edge, steps from the harbour and a short walk from the lighthouse. The coastal path and the Ards Peninsula are right on the doorstep, and Karen will happily point you towards her favourite walks and the best places to eat and drink, and sort a taxi if you need one.

Three nights gives you time to find the rhythm of the place: an early walk before the harbour wakes, a long lunch somewhere you didn’t plan on, an afternoon at the Copeland Distillery, and evenings with nowhere in particular to be.
